Randwick Campus Redevelopment
Client: Health Infrastructure NSW
Community wellbeing drives a transformative approach to planning retail and public zones in Health
NSW State Government has committed an unprecedented $220M to the progress expansion of the Prince of Wales Public Hospital with a new acute service building and a state-of-the-art training facility.
It is a catalyst project for the Randwick Hospitals Campus and community which includes The Prince of Wales Hospital, Prince of Wales Private Hospital, The Royal Hospital for Women, Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Services, and the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick. The redevelopment is a first step in creating a globally renowned centre for health and wellbeing, proving integrated health, research, education and teaching to drive innovation.
Guided by the vision for this redevelopment and Health Infrastructure’s Draft Retail Strategy, planning of public and retail spaces will foster wellness in the Hospital community, and provide zones for collaboration and retreat.

Realising Health Infrastructure’s vision for retail planning, The Maytrix Group worked closely with key stakeholders, BVN Architecture and the consultant team to inform the Randwick Campus Retail Strategy, scoping the key planning inputs for the retail mix, area and zones to support the future needs and aspirations of this world class precinct.
The Retail Strategy embraces the vision and guiding principles for the redevelopment, and responds directly to the needs of the community.
Data capture and analysis, cross sector benchmarking and stakeholder workshops informed a strategic approach to the retail strategy.
